Amongst the beautiful and private grounds of the Clinton-Baker Pinetum come and ease into the weekend with an uplifting forest walk. We will immerse in the wonders of nature and indulge in the curiosities of the season. Our minds will be rested, our bodies reconnected and our spirits lifted.
This experience offers time to explore and a moment of pause. It also gives an opportunity to notice nature. By taking the time within nature, we often find space to slow down, and experience ‘being’ in the land, in a new and gentle way.
About the Experience
We will take a slow, gentle walk within the pinetum and experience the land using a series of guided, sensory ‘invitations’. Our forest therapy experiences take you from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, on a journey where time and destination release their hold. The forest in partnership with the guide, facilitate the space, offering reconnection, restoration and re-balance.
Forest therapy improves our mental, physical and social wellbeing. There is growing empirical evidence to demonstrate the positive impact it has on our physical health. Benefits include reducing blood pressure, heart rate, depression and anxiety. In addition it is known to boost the immune system and improve cognitive function and creativity.
No previous experience or fitness is required so you have absolutely nothing to lose by trying!
About your Forest Walk Guide
After working for many years in the corporate industry, Sam set up her own business, Natural Edge Coaching and Forest Therapy. Sam specialises in supporting clients through a period of transition – whether that’s at work, in relationships, or in other aspects of life.
With a BSc in Biological Science, with Zoology, Sam has always been inspired by the natural world and is passionate about demonstrating the scientific benefits of being out in nature. She combines her scientific and coaching experience with her compassionate, empathetic and intuitive approach. It’s her mission to help people remember their natural connection with themselves and their environment thereby empowering them to be their own leader of a life of wholeness and fulfilment. With the forest as her partner she believes people will fall back in love with the land and work together to nurture its wellbeing, as it nurtures theirs.
Any outdoor activity entails known and unanticipated risks and although forest therapy is a low-risk activity, you still need to assume the full responsibility of your own well-being and safety.
